In de filosofie van de vijf elementen is aarde aardend, water vloeiend, vuur energetiserend, lucht verlichtend en ether uitbreidend.
According to the ancient wisdom of yoga, earth, water, fire, air and space are the archetypal building blocks that compose everything in the Universe, including nature and the human body. In the 5 element philosophy earth grounds, water flows, fire energizes, air lightens and space expands. We, as a part of the universe also consist out of these 5 elements. Our feeling of wellbeing depends on the balance of these elements.
So, who are you? What is your constitution? Do you have a lot of fire? Good, that means you have a lot of energy, willpower and personality, a good digestion,... yet, when out of balance, you will burn yourself with your own fire. As you work with the elements you will gain awareness and understanding of your deeper nature, because the path of yoga is the process of revealing your Self to yourself.
We will use asana, pranayama and meditation to bring our whole system closer to balance, using the qualities of each element. From the static asanas of hatha yoga to the dynamic flow of vinyasa and the deep stillness of yin and restorative yoga, you will learn the value of each style, according to the 5 elements and your individual constitution. Although we will discover the elements through our whole body and being, each element “lives” more in a specific center or chakra in the body. As we move trough the 5 elements, we will move through our whole chakra system. Open to everyone who is open to the work.
